jobTopia is searching for a senior accountant from a commercial real estate background. Candidates must have at least 4-6+ years experience working in commercial real estate to be considered.
Scope:-
General ledger accounting: accruals, prepaids, stock transactions, recording income taxes
Consolidation at the corporate level and real estate level
Accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial (retail, office and land) real estate investments, including review of monthly property closes done by 3rd party property managers, consolidation of property level information, preparation of GAAP financial statements and disclosures
Present monthly financial results to management, including any significant variances, fluctuations and forecast revisions.
Maintain fixed asset subsystem and depreciation schedules
Coordinate annual budgeting process including review and approval of property budgets, preparation of parent company and consolidated real estate budgets and coordination of property managers’, leasing agents’ and asset management’s efforts.
Oversee quarterly reforecast process
Review and approve annual CAM
, insurance and tax reconciliations prepared by property managers
Record acquisitions and dispositions of equity real estate investments.
Prepare financial analysis including hold/sell scenarios, development, refinancing and leasing
Cash management and forecasting, maintaining bank relations
Management of loan compliance
Maintenance of insurance policies (liability and property) for the properties
Skills and Qualifications:
Accounting degree
4-5+ years advanced accounting experience within commercial real estate industry
Ability to work with property managers and accountants, leasing agents, brokers, company management, auditors and tax consultants
Ability to research and analyze legal documents, including leases, management and leasing agreements, loan documents, purchase and sale agreements and service contracts
