They have asked jobTopia to identify a Senior SOX  Accountant.   This role is very dynamic and you will have a chance to demonstrate your organization, leadership and executive level communication skills.  This role will evolve in the months to come as this company grows and possibly acquires other firms.  You may be able to provide support to the M&A transaction team and assist with several ad-hoc projects. 

Scope:

·         Maintain SOX process documents update your director.

·         Assist in reviewing testing design including review of controls and test plans for accuracy and necessity.

·         Manage and execute all aspects of test preparation, execution, and coordination with process owners. 

·         Supervise and review SOX testing by staff accountants and ensure test results are appropriately documented and communicated.

·         Assists in determining overall scope of annual SOX assessment through management interviews and completion of annual SOX business plan.

·         Establish and maintain strong relationship with senior management and parent company.

·         Coordinate the monitoring and reporting deficiencies and related remediation efforts.

·         Assist with special projects as needed including GAAP research and acquisitions.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·         CPA certification required.

·         Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration and/or Finance required.

·         Excellent working knowledge of SOX compliance or internal controls.

·         Solid GAAP knowledge; accounting research experience a plus

·         Three plus years of SOX or internal controls experience in public accounting and/or audit function of larger corporation.

·         Ability to assess internal controls and provide own conclusions to improve control environment.

·         Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.

·         First-rate business/accounting writing and oral communication skills.

They have asked jobTopia to identify a Manager of Accounting and Finance Policy.   This role is very dynamic and will change scope and focus in the months to come.  As this company grows and possibly acquires other firms, your position will change to support the emerging needs.   You could support the M&A transactions and have several ad-hoc projects to spearhead.

 

Scope:

 

·         Help establish and maintain all financial policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP, PCAOB.

·         Oversee compliance of the financial policies for all business divisions.

·         Facilitate the implementation of procedures supporting the accounting policies.

·         Continuously monitor, document and communicate the development of new accounting standards, interpretations and emerging guidance.

·         Monitor requirements under Sarbanes-Oxley standards to provide value added input and updates with regard to the annual SOX business plan.

·         Provide timely communication regarding technical accounting issues and SOX with proposed solutions based on solid research and inquiries.

·         Establish and maintain strong relationship with senior management and other key process owners.

·         Assist with special projects as needed in various areas including SOX and acquisitions.

 

Skills needed:

 

·         CPA certification required.

·         7+ years of public accounting experience, preferably within a “Big Four” firm OR experience with a large regional firm or an accounting policy role in a larger organization will be considered as well.

·         Expert on technical accounting issues.

·         Proficient in technical GAAP research and analysis.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present clear and well documented recommendations of proper accounting policy.

·         Extremely organized with strong sense of priority, urgency and commitment to deadlines.

·         Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to take ownership of projects and tasks.

·         Willingness to work overtime on an as-needed basis.

·         High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

·         Travel of approx. 10 to 20%.
